The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced squad for the upcoming multi-format series between India Under 19 and Australia Under 19 on Saturday, August 31. Samit Dravid, son of the legendary India cricketer and former India head coach Rahul Dravid, also found a place in both red-ball and white-ball teams.
Notably, 18-year-old Samit was recently seen playing in the Maharaja T20 Trophy for Mysuru Warriors. However, the right-handed batter didn’t have a memorable time in the league scoring just 82 runs from seven innings at an average of 11.71 and a strike rate of 113.88.
His highest score of the tournament came against Gulbarga Mystics where he scored 33 (24) with the help of four fours and a six. Meanwhile, apart from him, Uttar Pradesh’s Mohamed Amaan will be seen leading the One-Day squad in the upcoming series while Soham Patwardhan will be seen leading the team in the four-day matches.
Notably, India U-19 will take on Australia U-19 in three 50-over games on September 21, 23 and 26 in Puducherry followed by two four-day matches in Chennai beginning from September 30.
