The greatest player of all time, Lionel Messi, who is an Argentine professional footballer, added a new achievement in his professional career by winning the Copa America for the second time, as Albiceleste registered a win against Colombia 1-0 in the finals on Monday morning. This Copa America victory raised Messi to a historic milestone: winning 45 trophies with both club and country, surpassing the record previously held by Brazil’s Dani Alves.

He has been criticized many times for not being able to prove himself in internationals, but now he has given a perfect answer to all the critics by winning four major titles in three years with Argentina: two Copa Americas, one World Cup, and a Finalissima from 2021–2024. In his illustrious club career, Messi has won ten La Liga championships with Barcelona and four Champions League titles. 

Talking about him, he had registered eight Ballon d’Ors and six European Golden Boots during his football career. Messi has assembled a breathtaking 1,212 goals and assists in 1.068 games, consisting of 838 goals and 374 assists. Of the 45 titles won by Messi, 39 have been attained at the club level. The majority of the titles and victories came during his 17-year tenancy with Barcelona. His honor includes “four UEFA Champions Leagues with Barcelona, 12 League titles, of which 10 are with Barcelona and two with PSG, and other than that, he had 17 domestic cups.” 

Talking about his matches representing Argentina, he has registered wins in the “2005 U-17 World Cup, the 2008 Olympics, the 2021 Copa America, the 2022 Finalissima, and the 2022 World Cup '' when Argentina won against France in the finals. Messi has struggled a lot and faced many criticisms to reach this victory in his life. It’s been a long journey with many ups and downs, but his wise decisions and good leadership skills have managed him to reach this height and honor. 

In the Copa America final against Colombia, Messi faced a lot of challenges as he was being substituted in the 64th minute due to an ankle injury, but his presence of mind was clearly visible during the whole match, which helped Argentina win the title.
