IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans have announced Parthiv Patel as their batting and assistant coach ahead of the mega auction. Parthiv replaced Gary Kirsten for the role, who left the franchise after being appointed as Pakistan's white ball team's coach. Before his move to the Gujarat Titans, Parthiv Patel was associated with the Mumbai Indians as their talent scout. The Gujarat franchise was pleased to welcome the former India wicketkeeper-batter and hailed him for the wealth of experience he brings. Parthiv's inclusion will be a major boost for the franchise ahead of the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction, which will take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah.

"The Gujarat Titans are pleased to announce the appointment of Parthiv Patel as their new Assistant and Batting Coach. With a distinguished 17-year career as a former Indian wicketkeeper-batter, Parthiv brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team. As the Titans prepare for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season, Parthiv's insights into batting techniques and strategies will play a crucial role in enhancing the players' skills. Parthiv, who is known for his sharp cricketing acumen and ability to mentor young talent, will strengthen the coaching staff and contribute to player development and performance," Gujarat Titans said in a statement.

GT retained Rashid Khan as their top pick for 18 crores, while Shubman Gill accepted a pay cut and was retained at 16.5 crores. Sai Sudharsan was brought back to the franchise for 8.5 crores, while Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia got retained for 4 crores each.

Parthiv, being Mumbai Indians' talent scout, was often spotted attending domestic matches and even age-group fixtures in the country. The wicketkeeper announced his retirement from all formats of the game in December 2020 and has been busy with scouting and commentary duties ever since. He keeps a close eye on the domestic circuit, making him a valuable asset for the GT camp as they aim to build another title-winning squad in the upcoming mega auction. Parthiv's association with multiple IPL franchises during his playing days will also play crucial role for Gujarat Titans.
