Instagram has reached a significant milestone, with over 2 million active subscriptions to creators on the platform. This development marks a notable shift in how users engage with their favourite content creators, as they now have the option to directly support them through paid subscriptions.

The introduction of subscriptions on Instagram provides creators worldwide with a means to earn recurring monthly income based on support from their fans. To further empower creators in growing their subscription base, Instagram is rolling out tests for new tools designed to improve the subscription experience. These include in-app guidance through case studies, best practices, and recommendations available in the Professional Dashboard.

Additionally, creators will have access to insights on the effectiveness of their subscription efforts, such as the number of taps on the subscribe sticker in their stories. In a bid to protect creators' exclusive content, Instagram is also experimenting with new measures to prevent screenshots and screen recordings. This initiative aims to safeguard the integrity of subscription-based content and ensure that creators' work remains exclusive to paying subscribers, the company said.
