The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in its recent update has asked Aadhaar card holders to update their Aadhaar card before September 14. Currently, UIDAI offers people an option to make changes free of charge. However, if the update is done after the deadline set by UIDAI, Rs 50 as a fee will be charged for any changes made.
“Have you moved to a new city? Or recently changed your address? Do not forget to update your new address in your Aadhaar,” said the UIDAI in a recent update on its website.
Step 1: Visit the Portal; go to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and log in using your Aadhaar number and the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
Step 2: Review Details; check your profile for authentication and address details.
Step 3: Verify Information; If the details are correct, click the option ‘I verify that the above details are correct.’
Step 4: Select Documents; choose the identity and address verification documents you wish to upload from the provided drop-down menus.
Step 5: Upload Files; upload the selected documents, ensuring each file is under 2 MB and in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format.
Step 6: Submit for an Update; review all the information and check the update request to revise your Aadhaar details
Apart from online, if a cardholder wants to update Aadhaar, they can go to the nearest UIDAI authorised centre.
