Several Trinamool Congress leaders on Thursday claimed that a woman working at Raj Bhavan has alleged sexual harassment by Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose. The Bengal Governor has denied the allegations, calling them “engineered narratives”.
The TMC leaders claimed that the woman, who had levelled the allegations, reached out to the Kolkata Police to file a complaint.
“Shocking details emerging in the Raj Bhavan Molestation case! Sexual assault survivor reveals more women were harassed in similar manner! PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah should ensure justice for these victims if they truly believe in Nari Ka Samman,” Trinamool Congress tweeted.
Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose dismissed the allegations, calling it an attempt to malign him.
“Truth shall triumph. I refuse to be cowed down by engineered narratives. If anybody wants some election benefits by maligning me, God Bless them. But they cannot stop my fight against corruption and violence in Bengal,” CV Ananda Bose said.
The above remark was addressed to the Raj Bhavan staff who “expressed solidarity with Governor CV Ananda Bose against whom some derogatory narratives were circulated by two disgruntled employees as agents of political parties,”
Indira Mukherjee, DC (Central), Kolkata Police, said that the police received a molestation complaint against the Governor at 5pm today.
“We are enquiring into it. We cannot share when the incident took place. As per the complainant, the incident took place inside Raj Bhavan. She complained that several times this has happened,” the official said.
The police refused to divulge further information.
