On Monday, Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said, “There is no need for concern about job losses as there is no lack of jobs in the country,” highlighting that the unemployment percentage would go down below 3 percent in the future.
During the Question Hour in Lok Sabha, Mandaviya said that employment generation has taken place under the Narendra Modi-led government. The unemployment rate has come down to 3.2 percent, which once was 6 percent in 2017-18.
The labor force participation increased from 38 percent in 2017–2018 to 44 percent in 2024, while the work population also saw growth from 31 percent to 40 percent during the period of the Modi government, Mandaviya said.
In response to the supplementary, Mandaviya said that there is no need for concern about job losses, highlighting the decline in the unemployment rate. The unemployment rate went from 6 percent in 2017–18 to 3.2 percent, and in the future, it will go down below 3 percent. There is no lack of jobs in the country, he added.
