Shark Tank India fame Ashneer Grover and his wife Madhuri Jain have reportedly been denied permission by the Delhi Police to travel to the United Kingdom. If a report by Pinkvilla is to be believed, Ashneer and Madhuri wanted to visit the London School of Economics (LSE) as guest lecturers. Therefore, they had sought permission from the investigation officer of the Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) to travel to UK rom March 9 to March 15.

However, their requests have been rejected. “After reviewing their representation, the investigation officer denied the permission,” a source cited by the entertainment portal claimed.

Ashneer also reacted to the same and told Indian Express, “Correspondence between me and EOW is confidential and as per court’s directives… I will continue to cooperate with police in this open and shut case and keep winning in Court. I’ve not got any correspondence regarding the travel permission (which is a confidential correspondence) as yet from EOW.”

For the unversed, Ashneer Grover landed in trouble in May last year after he was accused of alleged misappropriation of funds at BharatPe. An EOW FIR was filed against him under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.

Ashneer Grover became a household name after he featured in Shark Tank India season one. His one-liners and straightforward replies to pitchers grabbed everyone’s attention. During the show, he was also seen scolding several pitchers. However, the entrepreneur was not a part of the show’s second season. He was replaced by the co-founder of CarDekho, Amit Jain.

Currently, the third season of Shark Tank India is underway which is also joined by some new judges including Ritesh Agarwal, Founder of OYO, Azhar Iqubal, Co-Founder and CEO of Inshorts, and Radhika Gupta, CEO of Edelweiss Capital. Recently, film producer Ronnie Screwvala also joined the show.
