Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna, accused of sexually assaulting multiple women, is headed to India from Germany to join the probe against him, sources told media.

Prajwal Revanna, who left for Germany after alleged sex tapes featuring him surfaced, boarded the flight from Munich for Bengaluru.

India Today TV produced Prajwal's boarding pass from Munich airport to Bengaluru. He boarded the flight at 11.20 am (local time).

Prajwal is expected to land in Bengaluru in the early hours of May 31.

Prajwal, who is the NDA candidate from the Hassan Lok Sabha seat, had left the country in April as explicit video clips showing him allegedly sexually abusing multiple women started making the rounds in Karnataka. Hassan went to the polls in the second phase on April 26.

Two rape cases have been registered against Prajwal so far.

Earlier this week, the JD(S) MP released a video message, saying he would appear on May 31 before the probe team and cooperate with the inquiry. He also claimed that the cases against him were false.

Prajwal Revanna said he went into "depression and isolation" after the scandal broke out and claimed that "political forces" were at work in Hassan.

"Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other senior Congress leaders started campaigning against me in open forums, and politically conspiring against me. I went into depression and isolation," he said in the nearly three-minute video.

Prajwal posted the video days after his grandfather and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda wrote a letter, urging him to return to India and face the investigation.
