Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hit out at the Congress party and said even listening to Hanuman Chalisa has become a crime under the party's regime. The Prime Minister also said it was difficult to follow one's faith under the party and accused it of hatching a deep conspiracy to snatch people's wealth and distribute it among "select" people.

The Prime Minister's remarks came while he was addressing a poll rally in Rajasthan's Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, on a day when the country is celebrating Hanuman Jayanti.

PM Modi also said the Congress banned the Ram Navami celebrations in Rajasthan.

"Under the rule of Congress, even listening to Hanuman Chalisa becomes a crime. Rajasthan has been its sufferer. For the first time on Ram Navami this time, Shobha Yatra procession was taken out in Rajasthan," PM Modi said.

"In a state like Rajasthan where people chant Ram-Ram, Congress banned Ram Navami," he added.

Referring to the 'redistribution of wealth' remarks made by him at a rally in Rajasthan's Banswara on Sunday, the Prime Minister said it has angered the Congress and INDI Alliance so much that they have started "abusing" Modi everywhere.

"It is written in their manifesto that they will survey the wealth. Their leader had said in a speech that an X-ray of wealth will be done," he said, adding, "When Modi exposed the secret, your hidden agenda came out, and you are trembling".

PM Modi also said the Congress party has toyed with the Constitution of the country.

"The Congress party has toyed with the Constitution of the country. When the Constitution was drafted, reservations based on religion were opposed, so that Scheduled Casts (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) could get protection. Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh had said that Muslims have the first right to the country's resources. Congress's ideology has always been of appeasement and vote bank politics," he said.

The Prime Minister also said stones would still be pelted in Jammu and Kashmir, and enemies would still be cutting off the heads of our soldiers had Congress been in power.

"In 2014, when you gave Modi the opportunity to serve in Delhi, the country took decisions that no one had imagined. But if the Congress had been in power, stones would still be pelted at our forces in Jammu and Kashmir."

"If the Congress was in power, the enemies would still be cutting off the heads of our soldiers from across the border and the Congress government would not have done anything. One Rank One Pension would not have been implemented for our soldiers, bomb blasts would have been taking place in the country," PM Modi said.

"In these 10 years, you have seen what a stable and honest government can do for the development of the country," he added.
