SRH vs MI Records: Wednesday night in Hyderabad belonged to batters, with bowlers having a nightmare on a batting paradise that saw Sunrisers Hyderabad posting the highest total in IPL history and then surviving a spirited chase from Mumbai Indians to open their account.

Here’s a look at the full list of records broken during SRH vs MI

Highest Team Total: SRH posted 277/3 in 20 overs, which is now the highest team total in IPL history. They broke the previous record of 263/5 set by Royal Challengers Bengaluru back in 2013. This is the fourth-highest total in all T20s.

SRH’s Best Powerplay Score: The Sunrisers sprinted to 81/1 in six overs, which is their highest total in Powerplay. Their previous best was 79/0 against Kolkata Knight Riders in Hyderabad.

Fastest Fifty by an SRH batter: Abhishek Sharma’s 16-ball half-century is the quickest of any SRH batter in IPL history. He broke the record set by Travis Head minutes before in the innings when he took 18 balls to reach the milestone.

Most Runs in a T20 Match: MI made 246/5 in their unsuccessful chase of 278. However, the match aggregate of 523 runs is now the highest in T20 history.

Highest Score at the Halfway Mark: Sunrisers were 148/2 after their 10 overs, which is now the most by any team at this stage in IPL. Incidentally, they overtook the previous tally of 131/3 set by MI in 2021 against them!

Most Sixes in an IPL Match: SRH collected 18 sixes in their innings, while MI betterd that by hitting 20 sixes in their chase. They combined for 38 sixes, which is the most in any IPL match.

Expensive Debut: MI gave the debut to 17-year-old South African left-arm pacer Kwena Maphaka. However, the U19 World Cup star had a nightmare as he conceded 66 runs in his four overs, which is the most expensive spell by a debutant in an IPL match. He overtook the previous record of 62 runs set by Michael Neser for Punjab Kings in 2013.
