Hundreds of users in India reported issues accessing these apps earlier today, according to Down Detector. The popular social media platforms experienced significant disruptions, with users encountering problems loading pages and accessing features. This is a global outage and thousands of people have been affected by this if we go by social media.
Many took to Twitter to express their frustration, noting that the platforms were either slow to load or completely unresponsive. The hashtags #FacebookDown and #InstagramDown quickly gained traction as users sought information and vented their concerns. If we go by the Down Detector site, it reveals that the impacted Facebook users have reported issues related to profile, uploading and website.
Instagram users, on the other hand, were having problems while trying to log into their accounts. Out of 600 reports, 66 percent of users had app-related issues and 26 percent were not able to access the web version of Instagram.
Facebook and Instagram have yet to release an official statement addressing the outages. The cause of the disruption remains unclear, and it is unknown how long it will take to resolve the issues. It is worth pointing out that this is not the first time that these social media apps have stopped working for a brief period, as this keeps happening every now or then. But, both the apps are now back up and working fine.
