The Congress on Saturday said it got two more notices from the Income Tax Department "last night", a day after the party got a fresh tax notice of over Rs 1,800 crore.
Addressing a press conference, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said, "Two more notices were sent to us last night."
On Friday, the Congress said it received fresh notices from the Income Tax Department, asking it to pay around Rs 1,823 crore. This came hours after the Delhi High Court rejected the party's pleas against tax reassessment proceedings.
The notice was served for the assessment years 2017-18 and 2020-21, and included penalty and interest.
The grand old party accused the BJP of indulging in "tax terrorism" to financially cripple it ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
