The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday alleged that luggage and belongings of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi were thrown out of her official residence -- 6, Flagstaff Road -- on Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena's order.

The party, led by Arvind Kejriwal, also claimed that the move was a part of the BJP's plan to capture the Chief Minister's official residence.

"Delhi Chief Minister's residence at 6, Flagstaff Road in Civil Lines was forcibly vacated at the behest of the BJP as Lt Governor VK Saxena wants to allot it to a saffron party leader," Delhi CMO said in an official statement.

According to sources from the LG House, the property at Sheesh Mahal, 6 Flag Staff Road, is not officially designated as the residence of the Chief Minister.

Like other government properties, it belongs to the Public Works Department (PWD), which takes charge once the house is vacated, conducts an inventory, and reassigns it, the sources told.

"Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal never handed over the property to the PWD after vacating it, raising questions about potential hidden motives. While Chief Minister Atishi's official residence is currently at 17 AB Mathura Road, she briefly moved her belongings into the Sheesh Mahal property without formal allotment. The bungalow will be allotted once the PWD completes its process," the sources stated.

Visuals from outside 6, Flagstaff Road showed several cartons and luggage being taken out of the official residence and a team of Public Works Department (PWD) arriving there.

"The BJP has been out of power in Delhi for 27 years, and as a result, they are allegedly attempting to lay claim to the CM’s residence due to their inability to secure electoral support from the public," senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said.

Earlier in the day, Singh also alleged that officials were not allotting the bungalow to Chief Minister Atishi and her camp office there was also vacated.

AAP has also claimed that there was a plan to allot the bungalow to some important BJP leader.

Atishi shifted to bungalow number 6 on Flagstaff Road in north Delhi's Civil Lines earlier this week, days after her predecessor Arvind Kejriwal vacated it.

Reacting to the development, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said that the residence was "finally sealed".

"Arvind Kejriwal's 'Sheesh Mahal' has finally been sealed... What secrets are hidden in that bungalow that without handing over the keys to the concerned department, you were trying to enter the bungalow again?" said in a video message.

Sachdeva also claimed that a lot of secrets are hidden in the bunglow.

"You created a good drama by taking your belongings in two small trucks. Everyone knows that the bungalow is still in your possession. The way you tried to hand over the bungalow to Atishi was unconstitutional. Atishi has already been allotted a bungalow then how can she take your bungalow? A lot of secrets are hidden in that bungalow," he said.

Arvind Kejriwal, AAP's national convenor, resigned as Chief Minister in September and officially vacated his official residence last Friday.
