Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh on Tuesday stated that the jailed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has sent a message from prison: 'My name is Arvind Kejriwal, and I am not a terrorist'.
The AAP MP alleged that “efforts are being made 24 hours to demoralise Arvind Kejriwal”, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in the Delhi excise policy case and is currently lodged in the Tihar Jail.
"He is being treated as a terrorist. He is not being allowed to meet near ones properly. It is clearly a vendetta politics. Arvind Kejriwal will come out strong," the AAP leader said.
"Arvind Kejriwal, who worked like a son and a brother for the country and the people of Delhi, has sent a message from jail that 'My name is Arvind Kejriwal and I am not a terrorist',” Singh said in a press briefing in New Delhi.
Singh had walked out of Tihar Jain on April 4 after spending six months behind bars in the same liquor policy case.
He alleged that the “three-time elected Chief Minister of Delhi was made to meet [Punjab] Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann through a glass.''
“It is clear from this that the Prime Minister has a feeling of hatred against Arvind Kejriwal,” he said.
“The more you try to break him, the stronger he will come back... Yesterday, CM Bhagwant Mann became emotional during the meeting. This is an emotional matter for all of us but it is a matter of shame for BJP and PM Modi,” the AAP leader said.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who met Arvind Kejriwal in Tihar jail onb Monday, had also alleged he was being treated like a terrorist.
Meanwhile, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak stated that Kejriwal will call two ministers to jail each week and review the progress of the work in their departments. The BJP has been demanding Kejriwal's resignation since his arrest.
