Amidst the blistering heat of Rajasthan, where temperatures have soared past 45 degree Celsius, a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan has demonstrated the intensity of the heat by roasting papad in the hot sand near the border in Bikaner.
In the video that is now viral, the jawan is seen placing a papad in the scorching sand for a few seconds. He then shows the perfectly roasted, crunchy snack, highlighting the extreme heat in the region. The video caption notes, "A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan roasts 'papad' in the scorching sand in Bikaner, Rajasthan, where temperatures soar to 47 degrees Celsius."
This severe heatwave has prompted authorities to issue a 'red alert' for Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh, warning residents to brace for extreme temperatures over the next five days.
This viral video shows the severe weather challenges and highlights the resourcefulness required to cope with the intense heat in regions like Bikaner. "With regard to a state-wise forecast, we have issued a 'red alert' in Rajasthan for the next five days. The maximum temperature is likely to inch further up from 45 degrees Celsius and settle at 47 degrees Celsius," senior IMD scientist Naresh Kumar said.
