A civil judge’s dog has allegedly been stolen from his house in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly. The judge's family alleged that their neighbour, Dumpy Ahmed, stole their pet.
Following the complaint by the judge's family, the police registered a case against more than two dozen individuals under the Animal Cruelty Act.
The judge is currently posted in Hardoi, while his family resides at Suncity colony in Bareilly.
The judge's family and Ahmed's family had got into an argument a few days ago, as per the FIR.
Dumpy Ahmed's son, Qadir Khan, who resides in the same colony, had allegedly tried to intimidate the judge's family members and threatened to kill them.
On May 16, at around 9:45 pm, Dumpy Ahmed's wife arrived at the judge’s residence and demanded to have a word with them. Ahmed's wife was angry with the family as their dog had allegedly attacked her along with her daughter.
"Don't you know, my daughter and I were attacked?," she reportedly shouted, following which there was a long argument over the matter.
The judge was informed about the incident, and he called the Bareilly Police from Lucknow and gave them the information about the entire incident over the phone. He also filed a complaint.
The area officer, Anita Chauhan, then gave instructions to take legal action, after which the police set out to search for the judge's dog.
Meanwhile, when the media attempted to speak with the judge's family about the whole incident, they refused to make any statement.
