The Iskcon temple in Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati district received a bomb threat, following which the security of the temple was increased.

According to the police, the staff of the Iskcon temple received an email on October 27, claiming ISIS terrorists would blow up the temple.

Upon receiving an alert about the threat email, a team of Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and dog squad reached the spot and a search operation was launched at the temple, but no explosives or any other objectionable items were recovered.

A probe has been launched by the police after the bomb threat to the temple.

Earlier on October 26, two prominent hotels in Tirupati also received bomb threats, which were later confirmed as hoax threats by the police after a thorough search by BDS and sniffer dogs.

The threat mentioned the alleged drug trafficking network kingpin Jaffer Sadiq, who was arrested in Tamil Nadu by the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Enforcement Directorate. The mail, which appeared vague, claimed that Tamil Nadu’s top cop "paired with PAK ISI" to carry out blasts to "divert attention from Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi", wife of Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin.

Prior to this, three other hotels in Tirupati received bomb threats, which were also declared as hoax threats by the security forces following a thorough searches.
