Patna, Bihar: A period drive and awareness campaign was organised by Patna’s social workers Ranu and Shalinee in association with Being Women Forever, Period India, and Dot Free at the Government Girls High School, Bankipur, Patna.The event was joined by the youths and influencers of the city who distributed Sanitary Pads and gave one on one talks on period stigma & menstrual hygiene management to almost 500 female students of the high school.Campaign host Ranu told Jaano Junction that the event is organised, “to bring awareness around menstruation hygiene and to break the stigma & taboos around period, which is high in our community.”He further added that the initiative is also “to make menstrual products accessible to everyone.”photo1639907029.jpegOne of the influencers at the event told Jaano Junction that, “it is really important to make sure everyone is aware of menstrual hygiene and menstrual products are needed to be accessible to everyone, however, there is another major concern that needs to be worked on, which is promoting eco-friendly sanitary products. So that we can even save the environment while we aware people about period hygiene”The attendees also took the red dot challenge, where they put up a red dot on their palms to spread awareness.
