The Union Home Ministry has handed over the investigation into the June 9 terror attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), sources said. The anti-terror agency has filed a case under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in the matter.

The attack on the bus, which was returning to Katra from Shiv Khori temple in Reasi, killed nine people and injured 33 others.

The NIA is investigating the terror attack from every angle to see if there is a larger conspiracy behind the incident.

Last week, a total of 50 suspects were detained by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in connection with the probe into the terror attack, officials said. It came after an extensive investigation led by the police and security forces that gave significant leads, helping in the identification and capture of those potentially involved in orchestrating the attack, a police spokesperson said.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police, meanwhile, have released a sketch of one of the three terrorists involved in the attack. They also announced a Rs 20 lakh reward for information about him. The sketch of the terrorist was prepared based on the description given by eyewitnesses.
