Delhi Metro happens to be a widely used transportation system for innumerable passengers. However, it has been facing growing concerns regarding discipline and safety recently. The transportation system which was once known for providing the most comfortable experience has now transformed into a platform that is making headlines almost every day because of some reason or the other. Despite stern warnings from the Delhi Police and the DMRC itself, some commuters continue to disregard the rules. In a recent incident, a viral video captured a man lighting a beedi inside a metro train. The exact time and location of the incident remains unknown as of now.

The video shows an elderly man getting a beedi out of his pocket and lighting it up in a metro full of passengers. A few people around him show objection. However, reports claim that the man replied saying that he has a ticket with him. The video went viral immediately as people sought a reply from the DMRC.

In response to the video, DMRC replied by saying, “We conduct random checking through flying squads to detect any such objectionable behaviour. We appeal to the public to instantly bring up such instances to our notice so that immediate action can be taken.”

As per the rules, smoking inside the metro premises is strictly prohibited and it is a punishable offense. The video was shared by multiple portals urging DMRC to take a strict action.
