The Hyderabad Excise Department raided an ice cream purveyor in the city for serving up frozen treats that were anything but vanilla. According to authorities, the Ariko Cafe Ice Cream Parlour was found to be mixing things up by lacing their ice cream with whiskey.

The establishment, located in Jubilee Hills, was discreetly offering whiskey-infused ice cream to its customers. The concoction, a blend of traditional ice cream and a generous splash of whiskey, was being sold at a premium price.

The raid uncovered 23 pieces, totalling 11.5 kg of the illicit ice cream. Sharath Chandra Reddy, the parlour's owner and the alleged mastermind behind the boozy treat, was caught mixing 60 ml of whiskey into each kilogram of ice cream.

The parlour's employees, Dayakar Reddy and Shobhan, were also implicated in the racket and charged with manufacturing the whiskey-laced ice cream.

Not only was Reddy serving up this adult-only dessert, but he and his accomplices were also promoting their product on Facebook to entice customers looking for something sinfully sweet.

Excise Superintendent Pradeep Rao, who led the raid, said, "Selling alcohol-based products to children is a serious violation, and we will take strict action."

A case was registered against the individuals involved, and further investigation is on.
