Forest fires in Uttarakhand have now reached Nainital, sending smoke billowing through the hill town. The flames have reportedly reached Nainital's High Court Colony, prompting the administration to seek help from Army personnel to control the blaze.

Another blaze has been reported in the forest of Lariya Kanta area in Nainital district, partially damaging an ITI building.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is scheduled to hold a review meeting on Saturday regarding the forest fire, which intensified on Friday as it moved from the forests of Kumaon division to Nainital.

Several villages surrounding Nainital, including Baldiyakhan, Jeolikot, Mangoli, Khurpatal, Devidhura, Bhawali, Pinus, Bhimtal, and Mukteshwar, have been affected due to the forest fires.
