At least six people were injured after a major fire broke out at two restaurants in Delhi's INA market on Monday.

According to Delhi Fire Services officials, the fire started at a fast food restaurant and spread to an adjacent restaurant. After receiving information about the incident, six to eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot and doused the flames.

A part of the roof of one of the restaurants also collapsed in the incident, Delhi Fire Service officials said while speaking to the news agency ANI.

It is reported that the fire originated from a Chinese restaurant and then spread to the restaurant next door. At least six people suffered burns and were admitted to the nearest hospital for treatment. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

"We received information of the fire at 3.20 am. Seven to eight fire brigades have been sent there... Two restaurants caught fire and six people are reportedly injured... The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained... More than required commercial cylinders were stored in the restaurant, which could have led to a major tragedy...," Manoj Mehlawat of Delhi Fire Services said while speaking to news agency ANI.

Earlier in April this year, at least two people suffered minor burn injuries after a fire broke out in a residential building in Delhi. The incident occurred in a duplex flat built on the third and fourth floors of the Minasar Apartments in Sector 14 in Delhi's Rohini area.
