A 27-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a hotel in Gurugram, police said. The victim, identified as Divya Pahuja, was allegedly killed by one Abhijeet Singh, who is the owner of City Point Hotel where the murder took place.
It is alleged that the hotel owner, Abhijeet, along with his accomplices, committed the murder and then paid his associates Rs 10 lakh to dispose of Divya's body.
The murder suspects, including Abhijeet, were seen fleeing the scene in a blue BMW car, carrying Divya's body in the boot.
The entire incident was caught on CCTV cameras, which shows Abhijeet, the young woman, and another person arriving at the hotel reception on January 2 and proceeding to room number 111.
Later, in the same night, Abhijeet and others were seen dragging Divya's body wrapped in a sheet.
The Gurugram Police, on the basis of CCTV footage, are investigating the murder, with several teams from the Crime Branch conducting raids in Punjab and other areas to locate the body and arrested the accused.
Abhijeet and others have been booked based on the complaint filed by Divya's family.
Notably, Divya Pahuja was also the key witness in the gangster Sandeep Gadoli encounter case of 2016. Her family has filed a complaint alleging that her murder was orchestrated by gangster Sandeep Gadoli's sister Sudesh Kataria and his brother Brahm Prakash, in collusion with Abhijeet.
Divya, reportedly the girlfriend of gangster Sandeep Gadoli, who was killed in a controversial encounter in Mumbai in 2016, was also accused of being a police informant at that time.
The former model and prime accused in the murder of gangster Sandeep Gadoli, was granted bail by Bombay High Court in June last year.
Divya, her mother and five police personnel were booked for the murder of Gadoli in an alleged fake encounter on February 6, 2016 at a hotel in Mumbai. Divya was incarcerated for around seven year before securing bail.
