The Ministry of Home Affairs has declared Canada-based gangster Lakhbir Singh Landa as a terrorist.

According to the details, the 33-year-old gangster belongs to the Khalistani group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and was involved in the planning of a rocket attack on the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali in 2021.

Landa's name had also figured in connection with the RPG attack at Sarhali police station in Tarn Taran, in December 2022, along with being involved in other terrorist activities.

The terrorist originally hails from Punjab, but has been residing in Canada for the past few years.

He has been involved in hatching conspiracies against India.

In September this year, the Punjab Police conducted raids at 48 places linked to close associates of the Canada-based terrorist.

The action came after a trader was attacked by two assailants on September 21. The trader had said that he received a call from someone who claimed to be Landa Harike and demanded Rs 15 lakh.
