According to an intelligence report on the farmers’ protest 2.0, the remote and non-motorable borders of Delhi could serve as potential entry points for farmers.
Protesting farmers from Haryana and Punjab are scheduled to begin their march towards Delhi on Tuesday. Over 200 farmers' unions are en route to the national capital for the 'Delhi Chalo' march, aiming to urge the Centre to accede to their demands, including a guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP).
The report indicates that from Punjab alone, 1,500 tractors and 500 vehicles have been mobilised for the farmers' protest, with these vehicles loaded with six months' worth of food, rations, and logistics.
A crucial meeting between farmer leaders and Union ministers concluded without a resolution late Monday night, prompting farmers to proceed with their 'Delhi Chalo' protest today.
Main points as per farmer union’s plan to enter Delhi are: Shambhu Border (Ambala), Khanori (Jind), and Dabwali (Sirsa).
Ahead of calling the farmers protest, senior leadership and core committee of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC) had visited Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, and Tamil Nadu to seek support from farmers of the respective states.
The report also says that farmers have planned to come in small groups and hide themselves in gurudwaras, dharamshalas, ashrams, guest houses around Delhi and hold snap protests.
Security agencies have apprehensions that locations like Prime Minister House, Home Minister House could be potential protest targets.
