Five children in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district were injured in an explosion while attempting to create a bomb after watching videos on YouTube.
The children extracted gunpowder from matchsticks and connected it to a battery. The explosion occurred when the torch was seitched on.
One of the children was seriously injured, while the other four sustained burns of varying severity. All the injured were rushed to the Gayaghat Primary Health Centre (PHC) for treatment.
Upon receiving information about the explosion, police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rakesh Kumar confirmed the details, stating that the children had been experimenting with materials they learned about from YouTube videos.
According to SSP Kumar, the children had filled a torch with gunpowder extracted from matchsticks and inserted a battery, causing the torch to explode when it was switched on.
Eyewitness accounts reveal that the children were encouraged by an older child in the group to engage in the dangerous activity. As they followed his instructions, the explosion occurred, burning their faces and bodies.
Police are continuing their investigation and have urged parents to monitor their children's online activities to prevent such incidents.
