In Nepal, Prime Minister Prachanda faced a significant defeat in Parliament when his coalition partner withdrew support, paving the way for K P Sharma Oli's anticipated appointment with the backing of the Nepali Congress. Nepal's political scene recently saw a big change when Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as 'Prachanda', lost an important vote in Parliament. This happened because his coalition partner, the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML), decided to stop supporting him and planned to run the government on its own.

Now, it looks like K P Sharma Oli, with support from the Nepali Congress, will likely become the new Prime Minister instead of Prachanda. During the vote, only 63 out of 275 members in the House of Representatives supported Prachanda's plan, while a much larger number—194 members—voted against it. One member chose not to vote.Prachanda has been Prime Minister since December 2022, but his time in office has been marked by many changes in who supports him.

Despite surviving four previous votes like this, he couldn't keep his position this time, showing how uncertain politics can be in Nepal. The CPN-UML's decision to withdraw support was a big deal. Led by former Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli, they teamed up with the Nepali Congress, which is the biggest party in Parliament. This weakened Prachanda's coalition and set up a new group that has more support in Parliament. After the vote, Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire officially said Prachanda lost. Supporters of K P Sharma Oli were happy and congratulated him, showing that they think he will be the new leader. Oli and Sher Bahadur Deuba, the leader of the Nepali Congress, are going together to meet President Ram Chandra Poudel. They will bring signatures from members of both parties to ask for Oli to be the next Prime Minister of Nepal.

The Nepali Congress and CPN-UML together have 167 members in the House, which is enough to make a majority. But Nepal's rules say the new government still needs to win another vote in Parliament within 30 days to show they can lead well.

This big change in leadership shows how Nepalese politics are always changing. It's hard to keep a stable government when there are many different parties and they change their minds about who they support.

On the other hand, K P Sharma Oli coming back as Prime Minister could mean some new plans for the country. Last time he was in charge, he focused on making Nepal stronger and building things like roads and bridges. He also had to deal with problems with India and other issues inside his own party.

As Nepal gets ready for a new government under Oli, there will be a lot of things to do right away. They'll need to focus on making the economy better, keeping good relationships with other countries, and dealing with politics at home to make sure they keep their promises to the people.

Overall, this vote shows that Nepal's government can change quickly, but it also shows that Nepal's system of democracy is strong. People will be watching closely to see what happens next as the country moves through this time of change.
