Supporters of US Vice President Kamala Harris broke a Zoom attendance record on Thursday night, raising over $2 million for the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate in less than 90 minutes. Despite glitches, the largest Zoom meeting ever was attended by over 164,000 participants.

The Zoom fundraising event, called "White Women: Answer the Call", was attended by popular American celebrities like Pink and Connie Britton. The record-breaking call caused technical difficulties that led some attendees to switch to a YouTube livestream.

The Zoom event asked women nationwide to join the livestream chat and invite their contacts to support Harris, who was recently endorsed by President Joe President as he withdrew from the presidential race against Republican Donald Trump.

"We weren't kidding when we said we broke Zoom," said one attendee, Erin Gallagher. Another X user tweeted,"Zoom just broke a record... It's the largest Zoom call in the company's history. They are literally raising $20,000 per minute. Pop-star 'Pink' just spoke from her plane! It's incredible! No wonder Trump is freaking out!"

Connie Britton, who gained popularity for her role in 'Friday Night Lights', expressed delight over the huge endorsement for Harris. "When (Joe) Biden stepped down and endorsed Kamala Harris, the world blew up. It was seismic, cosmic, even," Britton said.

The fundraiser kicked off with comedian Carol Leif pledging $500,000. Pink, on the other hand, stressed the importance of women's voices in the political sphere.

This was the third massive Zoom call for Harris and comes as she aims to rally support and solidify her position as the Democratic nominee.

The previous Zoom calls included 44,000 Black women and 50,000 Black men. The events raised $1.5 million and $1.3 million, respectively.
