After the massive success of Animal, Ranbir Kapoor fans are eagerly waiting for the film’s sequel Animal Park. However, looks like they will have to wait a little longer for the movie. Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga recently attended an award show in Mumbai when he shared an exciting update about the film’s sequel but revealed that the shooting will begin only in 2026.

Previously, Instant Bollywood reported that the makers of Animal Park are likely to get Vicky Kaushal on board for the sequel of their blockbuster movie. Reportedly, Vicky Kaushal is being considered for a negative role in Animal Park. While there is no official confirmation regarding this as of now, it will be interesting to see Vicky’s on-screen clash with Ranbir. In the first part of the movie, it was Bobby Deol who played the negative lead.

Released on December 1, 2023, Animal revolved around a man and his toxic relationship with his father. The film showed Vijay (played by Ranbir) as an anti-hero who would go to any lengths to protect his father, including gun down 200 people with machine gun. However, despite his efforts, he struggled to get a seal of approval from his emotionally unavailable father (played by Anil Kapoor). The film also starred Rashmika Mandanna and Triptii Dimri in key roles.

While Animal was a box office success which earned over Rs 900 crore worldwide, it was also questioned by many for being ‘misogynistic’. The film sparked a debate on social media, with many slamming the director for his portrayal of Vijay.

Recently, Rashmika Mandanna also gave a befitting reply to those calling Animal ‘misogynistic’. She argued that Animal was ‘just about a character’ who’s ‘messed in the head.’ She called the film ‘raw, real and correct’ and stated that despite everything, people enjoyed it.
