In a significant move to promote women's safety, the AIIMS Student Association and Aarogya Seva-Global Health Volunteer Alliance are launching a National Poster Competition themed, "How Safe Can You Make Her Feel?" The competition is aimed at sparking conversations, spreading awareness, and encouraging creative solutions around the pressing issue of women’s safety across India.

A Collaborative Effort for Change

Recent events have once again highlighted the vulnerability of women in public spaces, workplaces, and educational institutions. From the tragic incidents at RG Kar Medical College to worrying reports from cities like Dehradun, Delhi, and Bengaluru, the need for stronger safety measures is clearer than ever. This poster competition seeks to bring these issues to light and explore how communities, schools, universities, and workplaces can take actionable steps toward building a safer environment for women.

The Competition: Themes and Categories

Participants are invited to submit digital posters addressing one of the competition's many themes, each designed to suit different age groups and professional backgrounds:

  • Middle School (Grades 6-9): Building Safe Communities – Create safer environments for girls in schools and neighborhoods.

  • Senior School (Grades 10-12): Empowering Through Awareness – Raise awareness and take action against harassment and violence.

  • Undergraduate Students: Innovative Solutions for Campus Safety – Propose strategies to enhance safety for women in universities.

  • Postgraduate Students: Strategic Approaches to Women’s Safety – Present comprehensive solutions and policies to ensure women’s safety across sectors.

  • Working Professionals: Creating Safe Workspaces – Focus on promoting respect and safety for women in the workplace.

Why Participate?

The competition offers a platform for students and professionals alike to channel their creativity into advocating for women's safety. By participating, individuals can:

  • Raise Awareness: Highlight key issues related to women’s safety.

Prizes and Recognition

All participants will receive certificates, and the top three posters in each category will be awarded special recognition by the organisers. Aarogya Seva and AIIMS Student Association also promises that the winning entries will also be featured on their respective official social media platforms and may be showcased at various public events and campaigns on women’s safety.

Submission Guidelines

  • Format: Digital posters in JPEG or PNG format (minimum 300 DPI).

  • Languages: Hindi, English, or any regional language.

  • Submission Link: Submit your poster here

  • Deadline: September 15, 2024.

Each entry should include the participant’s name, age (for students), contact information, and a brief description of the poster (50-100 words). Posters will be judged on creativity, originality, relevance to the theme, clarity of message, and visual appeal.
