We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Astha, a young and dynamic psychiatrist, has joined the SOS – Stories of Survival campaign. With her extensive academic background—an MBBS from Manipal, an MD in Psychiatry from KLE, Belagavi, and Senior Residency from UCMS, Delhi—Dr. Astha brings fresh insights and passion to our cause.
Her expertise in mental health, particularly in helping individuals navigate life’s toughest challenges, aligns perfectly with our mission to provide hope and break the stigma surrounding mental health conversations.
Beyond her academic achievements, Dr. Astha is a part of the Young Psychiatrist Coordination Committee for Zone 15 of the World Psychiatric Association and has served in the Environment & Psychiatry section of the Indian Psychiatric Society (2023-24). She has organized workshops, webinars, and conferences, presented research internationally, and is a peer reviewer for the American Journal of Case Reports and an editorial team member for the Delhi Journal of Psychiatry.
Her research spans critical areas, including climate change and mental health, and she is currently on an international fellowship with TEWV NHS Trust in the UK.
Dr. Astha’s involvement in the campaign is not only a testament to the growing recognition of mental health’s importance but also a significant step in connecting people to professional guidance. Her hands-on experience with patients, coupled with her commitment to raising awareness, adds a critical layer to our outreach.
By joining SOS, Dr. Astha aims to encourage those who may be hesitant to seek help, reminding them that their mental health journey is unique and worth prioritizing. Her advocacy for early intervention and open conversations about mental well-being complements the campaign’s core values of storytelling and survival.
As more people share their stories of survival, Dr. Astha will serve as a voice of expertise, helping to guide conversations, debunk myths, and offer medical insights into mental health. Her presence in the campaign assures participants that professional support is available for those seeking to understand and manage their emotional and psychological well-being.
