Lakshya Sen hit a brilliant behind-the-back recovery shot in his Group L clash against Indonesia's ace shuttle Jonatan Christie, which left the entire crowd at Paris Olympics 2024 absolutely stunned. Lakshay played the sensational shot while he was boasting a 19-18 lead over Christie in Game 1, which ultimately handed him the Game point to complete his turnaround.

Lakshya Sen stormed into the pre-quarterfinals of men's singles badminton at the Paris Olympics after surviving a Group of Death as he stunned World No. 4 Christie and defeating him by a margin of 21-18, 21-12. The Asian Games Gold medallists staged a sensational comeback in Game 1, which initially saw Christie take an 8-2 lead. However, a change in Lakshya's appproach ultimately saw the India star push Christie to the complete edge towards the latter stages of the game.

In a battle between two of the most pacey players on the tour, Lakshya's aggressive approach paid off. The Indian star turned it around, taking an 11-10 in the mid-game interval.

Christie kept fighting and did not allow Lakshya to build on the lead and was just three points away from taking the opening game. However, Lakshya won 5 points in the row from 16-18 to take the opening game. Lakshya's audacity was on full display as he played a behind-the-back shot to win a rally and leave the Paris crowd in awe. Lakshya Sen rolled over Jonatan Christie in the second game, riding on the confidence of having won a tough opener and the support from the crowd.

This win ensured Lakshya's spot in the pre-quarterfinals, where he will face his compatriot HS Prannoy.
