Shikhar Dhawan reveals funniest rumour on him: Heard I was marrying Mithali Raj

JJ News Desk

Veteran India batter Shikhar Dhawan made a funny revelation around him, leaving his fans in splits. The left-hander said that rumours of his marriage with the legendary Mithali Raj once did the rounds. Mithali is one of the greatest cricketers to have graced the game and is currently the leading run-scorer in Women’s ODIs. Mithali last donned the India colours in the 2022 World Cup match against South Africa in Christchurch.

Mithali is currently the mentor of the Gujarat Giants in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Dhawan, on the other hand, recently played for PBKS in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Dhawan revealed about his rumours with Mithali in an interview on Jio Cinema’s show ‘Dhawan Karenge’.

“I heard that I was getting married to Mithali Raj,” Dhawan said.

Dhawan also heaped praise on Rishabh Pant for making a strong comeback to competitive cricket. Back in December 2022, the veteran sustained multiple injuries in an accident while driving on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. Thereafter, he stayed away from the game for nearly 15 months before captaining DC in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Pant also broke into the Indian team for the T20 World Cup to be held in the West Indies and the United States of America (USA).

“I would like to appreciate the way he has handled his rehab and injuries after the accident. The positivity and the strength he has shown is tremendous and the way he has come back and played in the IPL and got into the Indian team is unbelievable and amazing and I am very proud of him,” Dhawan said. As far as Dhawan is concerned, he played only 5 games where he scored 152 runs at an average of 30.40 and a strike-rate of 125.61 with a top score of 70 to his name.
