Team India has become World Championsyet again, by lifting up the Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy 2024 in Barbados against South Africa under the leadership of Captain Rohit Sharma. The senior players from the Indian team, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja, announced their retirement from the T20 format, leaving the fans in shock as no one was expecting a sudden announcement from these three players. The announcement will bring up new opportunities for the new players to show off their strength and play for the nation.
Regarding the retirement of Kohli and Rohit, the former cricketer expressed his perspective that replacing both of them will not be tough, as India has a great deal of talent who can work great for the nation.
“It’s a big void; it's difficult to replace such players. But then again, with India, the pool of players is so wide, and there’s so much talent there. I’m sure India won’t struggle to find players to replace them. But yeah, to find players who can reach the level that those three did is going to be really difficult,” Masakadza said. He also mentioned two Indian young players who can fill up the space, which has occurred after the retirement of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. He named two young batters, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who have hidden talent and art inside themselves and will be a great treasure for Indian cricket after Rohit and Virat retire.
“I’m really looking forward to watching the growth and improvement, especially of Shubman Gill. I’ve watched a little bit of him in all three formats, and I really love what I’ve seen. He’s one player who can really step up to replace the guys who are leaving. Yashasvi as well. He started off brilliantly in his international career. So there are definitely a couple of players to look out for players who can go a long way towards filling the huge void left by those world-class players,” he added.
Since the retirement of all three players from T20 cricket, everyone is looking forward to naming a perfect replacement for the players, but it will be very difficult for the chosen one to play cricket just like the retired ones, so that the fans do not feel incomplete while watching their favorite team. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have played cricket for a longer time, which made them take this decision and let the young generation take over the Indian cricket.
