JJ News Desk

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been receiving warnings on social media after the actor revealed that Indian cricket team always wins when he doesn’t watch its match. Minutes after Team India’s win against New Zealand in ICC World Cup semi-final on Wednesday, Amitabh took to his official X account and wrote: “When I don’t watch we WIN!”

Meanwhile, several celebrities including Ranbir Kapoor, John Abraham, Kiara Advani, Sidharth Malhotra, Shahid Kapoor and Anushka Sharma attended the World Cup semi-final match in Wankhede stadium on Wednesday.

Soon after his post went viral, netizens warned him against watching the upcoming ICC World Cup final match on Sunday. One user wrote, “Don’t watch final match sir.” Another one said, “Stay indoors, Bachchan sahab.” A third user commented in Hindi, “Let’s do some arrangement to lock him into a remote island on the day of World Cup final.”

Hours after the match concluded, Anushka also took to her Instagram Stories and wrote a heart-warming note for her husband, Virat Kohli. She called him ‘truly God’s child’ and expressed her gratitude towards God for letting her watch Kohli grow. “God is the best scriptwriter! Utterly grateful to him for blessing me with your love, and to watch you grow from strength to strength and achieve all that you have and will, being honest to yourself and to the sport always. You are truly God’s child,” she said.

Virat Kohli broke Sachin Tendulkar’s ODI record with his 50th century at the 2023 World Cup semi-final match. He smashed a ton during the India vs New Zealand match, setting a new record for the highest number of centuries in ODI cricket. Kohli made 106 runs with the help of 8 fours and a six before he got out.
