Kerala school launches 'Iris', India's first AI teacher

A Kerala school has introduced Iris, the first generative AI teacher in India. Equipped with an Intel processor it is set to revolutionise education.

Kerala, known for its strides in education, has taken another innovative step by introducing its first generative AI teacher, Iris. Developed in collaboration with Makerlabs Edutech Private Limited, Iris marks a significant advancement in the integration of artificial intelligence in education.

Unveiled at KTCT Higher Secondary School in Thiruvananthapuram, Iris is a humanoid designed to enhance the learning experience for students.

Makerlabs shared a video of Iris on Instagram, showcasing its potential to transform education. "With IRIS, we've set out to revolutionise education by harnessing the power of AI to create a truly personalized learning experience," they wrote.

The video demonstrates Iris's interactive capabilities and its role as a versatile teaching tool.
