The wait is almost over for the new Apple devices. The event, "It's Glowtime" is scheduled for later today at 10.30 PM IST. Tech enthusiasts in India can watch the livestreaming on Apple’s official YouTube channel, and on the company’s India website. While all eyes will be on the upcoming iPhone 16 series, the event is expected to unveil other hardware as well. Apple Watch Series 10, AirPods 4 and AirPods Max second gen. But there is more. Earlier, rumours indicated that the event would also reveal a new Apple Watch Ultra 3.
According to the Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the potential lack of an Apple Watch Ultra 3 this year could be partly due to Apple needing "more time to develop innovative health management features." Now, Mark Gurman has something else to say. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman stated that it is unlikely for Apple to bring the Apple Watch Ultra 3 today. Instead, he thinks that the company will revamp the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and introduce the new variant at the event today. The revamped version of Apple Watch Ultra 2 is tipped to feature a black titanium colour option.
Whether Apple will introduce Watch Ultra 2 or Ultra 3, this can only be confirmed after the launch. But we are certain that there will be one wearable in the lineup for today. Following its tradition, the one smartwatch should be Apple Watch Series 10. While nothing has been confirmed officially, the rumours suggest that the upcoming watch will undergo a significant redesign. However, these rumours divide when it comes to the upcoming display of the watch. Earlier, rumours said that the display would be flat, following the Apple Watch Ultra design system. However, now it has gone back to the traditional curved display. Let's take a deep dive look at the upcoming watch.
Apple Watch Series 10 is said to feature an edge-to-edge display with a thinner design. However, the design is unlikely to look very different to the previous models. The rumour has it that the two available case sizes could increase to 45mm and 49mm, up from 41mm and 45mm, respectively, to fit in the larger screen.
Other than a big display and a thin design, Apple is also expected to bring enhancements under the hood. The speculations are that the wearables will feature a new chipset. This upgrade might also be a step towards bringing AI to wearables. But, it has also been speculated that AI enhancements do not mean that watches will feature Apple Intelligence. For now, Apple Intelligence is only reserved for iPhones, iPad, and Mac. And there are no plans to bring it to the Watch series yet.
It's health features are also tipped to see a substantial improvement. Speculation points to the introduction of blood pressure monitoring and sleep apnoea detection, thanks to advanced sleep and breathing analysis.
But we have to wait for the confirmed features. India Today tech team will be covering the on-ground event and keep you updated.
