Air India appoints Jayaraj Shanmugam as Head of Global Airport Operations

Air India said Jayaraj Shanmugam has joined the company from Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), where he held the position of Chief Operating Officer.

Air India appointed Jayaraj Shanmugam as its Head of Global Airport Operations on Monday.

Shanmugam is scheduled to start his new role on April 15, 2024, reporting directly to Chief Operations Officer Klaus Goersch.

Air India said in a statement that Shanmugam has transitioned from Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), where he held the position of Chief Operating Officer.

His tenure at BIAL was marked by contributions, particularly in operationalising Terminal 2, highlighting his expertise in airport management and operations, as per the statement from the Tata Group-owned airline.

Jayaraj Shanmugam brings more than 25 years of industry experience spanning airlines, airport, and telecom sectors.

He has held prominent roles in organisations including Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Jet Airways.
