Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said "Ram Naam Satya" (last rites) is certain for those who threaten society and warned that "we will make the life of criminals miserable".
He made the remarks while addressing a rally in Aligarh on Friday. The BJP has fielded Satish Kumar Gautam to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Aligarh slated to take place in the second phase on April 26.
The Chief Minister said that no one ever thought that women and businessmen could safely venture out of their home at night in Uttar Pradesh.
"Earlier people thought that nothing would happen to criminals... But I said that 'we will make the life of criminals miserable'. We speak less and give more results."
"Hum sirf Ram ko hi nahi late hai, beti aur vyapari ki suraksha ke liye jo khatra banta hai uska Ram Naam Satya bhi kr dete hai (We have not only brought Ram but also ensured 'Ram naam satya' for those who are a threat to the safety of daughters and businesspersons)," Yogi Adityanath said.
"We live life by the name of Lord Ram. Without Ram, nothing is possible. But when someone poses to be a threat to society, 'Ram naam satya' is a certainty for such people."
He also stressed on the importance of voting, saying that a wrong ballot could lead the country into the "depths of corruption".
Earlier in Uttar Pradesh, "there was anarchy, lawlessness and curfews", Yogi Adityanath said, adding that women and young people were constantly under threat.
But now, what was considered a dream 10 years ago, is now becoming a reality due to the people's vote, he added.
Yogi Adityanath praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the nation's infrastructure development and said that if he gets re-elected for a third term, "India will become the third-largest economy in the world within the first three years".
"India will develop only when Uttar Pradesh develops and Uttar Pradesh will develop only when Aligarh also develops," he added.
The Chief Minister exuded confidence about the outcome of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and said the people have already decided on "teesri baar, Modi Sarkar" (A Modi government for the third time).
The Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh will be held in all the seven phases starting from April 19 to June 1. Results will be declared on June 4.
