Delhi Police received two successive calls on Monday morning, both originating from the Chief Minister's residence in Civil Lines, police sources said. The caller, claiming to be AAP leader Swati Maliwal, reportedly dialled emergency services after allegedly being assaulted.
According to police sources, the call came around 9 AM. The caller claimed she was assaulted by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide, Vibhav.
However, after a police team arrived at the location, Swati Maliwal was not found.
According to protocol, Delhi Police cannot enter the Chief Minister's house without prior permission.
The police are currently investigating the authenticity of the PCR calls and attempting to gather more information about the matter. No written complaint has been filed yet.
India Today TV reached out to Swati Maliwal for her statement, but she was not available.
Reacting to the alleged incident, BJP IT Cell in-charge Amit Malviya said in a post on X, "Remember, Swati Maliwal had maintained radio silence on Kejriwal’s arrest. She was in fact not even in India at that time and didn’t return for a long time."
Swati Maliwal is the former chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women. She became a Rajya Sabha MP after the Aam Aadmi Party, headed by Arvind Kejriwal, nominated her.
