A recent video highlighting the dire state of crowd management in Indian Railways has gone viral, sparking widespread concern and discussion. The video, originally shared on Instagram by Vishal Sharma, shows the chaotic and overcrowded conditions on a train travelling from Bihar to Punjab’s Amritsar.

In the video, Sharma pans his camera towards the doors of the second-class compartments. The footage reveals a throng of passengers desperately trying to board an already packed train, with many hanging onto the door handles for dear life. Some were also seen trying to board the train through the couplers between two compartments. The chaotic scene paints a stark picture of the challenges faced by daily commuters.

“Dekho ye hai Bihar se Punjab jaane wali train ka haal (See the condition of the train travelling from Bihar to Punjab),” reads Sharma’s caption, capturing the essence of the overcrowded and unsafe conditions. In the video, Sharma also tries to stop people from boarding the train so dangerously.

The video has also made its way to X, where it continues to garner attention. The post was shared with the caption, “Condition of a train from Darbhanga to Amritsar. People are helpless,” emphasising the plight of the passengers.

Reactions to the video have been largely of shock and dismay. While many viewers expressed their concern over the unsafe travel conditions, others noted that such scenes are unfortunately common at railway stations in Bihar.

The viral video has brought to light the urgent need for improved crowd management and infrastructure in Indian Railways, highlighting a critical issue that affects the safety and well-being of countless passengers.
