Ticketless passengers overcrowd Vande Bharat Express in Lucknow. Railways reacts

JJ News Desk

A video showing ticketless passengers occupying a coach in the Vande Bharat Express has prompted a response from the Indian Railways. Archit Nagar, an X user, shared the short clip that was further reposted by an account - Indian Tech & Infra. As the video went viral with over 1 million views on X, Railway Seva responded to it.

The 5-second clip showed several passengers standing in the Vande Bharat coach as the train was stationed in Lucknow when the video was recorded. There was ultimate chaos as people attempted to find some space in the overcrowded coach.

Railway Seva, the official account for support to passengers, reacted to the post saying: “We're listening and will do our best to help. The concerned officials are being notified.” The official X account of the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Lucknow Division of Northern Railway was tagged in the post.

Social media users were furious and commented on the video saying that the passengers should be fined.

“Fine each passenger without ticket minimum Rs 1 lakh,” a user said.

Similar scenarios have been witnessed in several trains as videos of ticketless passengers overcrowding coaches have been doing the rounds of the internet.

“This will be the norm going forward in every train,” a comment reads.

To conclude, this was the general sentiment in the comments section: “India is not for beginners.”
