The Supreme Court on Monday rejected former Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain's bail plea in a money-laundering case investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The bench of Justices Bela M Trivedi and Pankaj Mithal also asked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, who was out on interim bail, to "surrender forthwith".
He was granted interim bail on May 26, 2023 on the grounds of ill health. Since then, he has been undergoing treatment.
The court also rejected the bail pleas of Ankush Jain and Vaibhav Jain, the co-accused in the case.
Monday's verdict came after the Supreme Court had in January reserved its order on the former Delhi Minister's bail plea after it heard submissions from Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, who appeared for the ED, and Jain's counsel Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi.
Satyendar Jain was arrested by the ED on May 30, 2022 for allegedly laundering money through shell companies and buying land with illegal funds.
His arrest came a month after the probe agency attached assets worth Rs 4.81 crore linked to the AAP leader's family in a disproportionate assets case.
