PM slams Congress’s ‘cancel culture’, ‘same product launch’ dig at Rahul Gandhi

JJ News Desk

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday teared into the Congress ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha polls and asserted that it is caught in 'cancel culture', a reference to the party's decision to oppose several government schemes including, Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Vocal for Local and others.

"Congress is caught in cancel culture. If we say Make in India, Congress says cancel; When we say Vocal for Local, Congress says cancel; when we propose Vande Bharat, Congress again says cancel," PM Modi said in his last speech in the current Lok Sabha.

PM Modi further targeted the Congress and said that it seems they have vowed to remain in opposition for decades, much like they were in power for years.

"I appreciate the Opposition's resolve to remain in the opposition for a long time. The way you sat here (in government) for many decades, the same way you resolve to sit there (in opposition). The public will certainly give you its blessings," he said.

Attacking Rahul Gandhi, who is currently in Jharkhand for his 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra', PM Modi said, "Ek hi product baar-baar launch karne ke chakkar mein, Congress ki dukaan tala lagne ki naubat aa gayi hai (Congress' shop on verge of closure in its attempt to launch same product again and again)".
