Pema Khandu sworn in as Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Chowna Mein his Deputy

BJP's Pema Khandu on Thursday took oath as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh for the third straight term, after he was unanimously elected as the BJP Legislature Party Leader at a meeting in Itanagar on Wednesday.

Khandu, the MLA of Mukto, was sworn in by Governor KT Parnaik in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP president JP Nadda and several other leaders.

Soon after Khandu, Chowna Mein took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.

Along with Khandu, 11 other MLAs were also sworn in as ministers.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Dorjee Khandu Convention Hall.

The BJP returned to power in Arunachal Pradesh for the third time in a row, winning 46 seats in the 60-member assembly.
