A designated CBI court on Monday extended the judicial custody of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia till April 17 in the Delhi excise scam case. The CBI told the court the investigation is at a crucial stage in the corruption case linked to the “scam”. The federal agency had arrested Sisodia on February 26 in connection with its probe into alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-scrapped liquor policy for 2021-22. He has also been arrested by the ED in the same case; his bail hearing in the ED case will be on April 5.

Meanwhile, addressing a press conference, Delhi BJP unit members said they will paste posters attacking Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as a “certified liar” across the city. “Today, we certify Arvind Kejriwal as the biggest liar in Delhi; he is someone who has lied about every scheme and program related to each government department in the city,” BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said.  “Where are the 12 lakh jobs that he claims he has given citizens in Delhi,” Tiwari asked. Last month, three men were arrested while another was booked for posters that were pasted across different areas of the capital, that read ‘Modi hatao, desh bachao’ (Remove Modi, save the country).
