Mamata Banerjee injured while boarding helicopter in Durgapur

JJ News Desk

Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee got injured on Saturday after she slipped and fell inside a helicopter in Durgapur.

The incident happened after she walked up the movable stairs placed before the chopper and was just about to take a seat inside the same. The helicopter was waiting for the Chief Minister to board, so it could take off.

Mamata Banerjee suffered a minor injury and was immediately helped by her security personnel. Later, she continued with her scheduled trip to Asansol.

The Bengal Chief Minister in May was hospitalised after she injured herself in a fall in the vicinity of her home in Kolkata. Visuals showed blood streaming down her face from a deep cut on her forehead. She was admitted to the state-run SSKM hospital.

In June 2023, Mamata Banerjee suffered a leg injury after her helicopter had to make an emergency landing at Sevoke airbase near Siliguri following inclement weather. She sustained ligament wounds to her left knee joint and her left hip joint.
