Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav is celebrating his 77th birthday today. Late in the night, Lalu Yadav cut birthday cakes with his family members.

Interestingly, Lalu Yadav will cut a 77-kg cake today at Rabri residence in Patna to celebrate his 77th birthday. His party, RJD, will also celebrate his birthday with great pomp and show.

Pictures from the late night celebrations showed Lalu Yadav feeding cake to his son Tej Pratap Yadav with wife Rabri Devi and daughter present in the frame.

"I still do not know my exact birthday. My party workers have been celebrating the day since it happened to be my birthday on my school certificate," Lalu Yadav had once said.

Lalu Prasad Yadav has a long and eventful political career spanning over four decades. He was first elected to the Lok Sabha from Bihar's Chhapra seat (now called Saran) in 1977, marking the beginning of his journey in the legislature. Despite facing electoral defeats, Lalu Prasad Yadav remained a prominent figure in politics.

Throughout his career, Lalu Yadav held various positions, including being an MLA, a chief minister, and a member of both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

He faced legal challenges when he had to resign as Bihar's chief minister in 1997 due to his indictment in fodder scam cases. However, his popularity among voters remained intact, and he continued to exert influence on Bihar's political landscape.
